Finding Excel 2007 Commands

When you install Excel 2007 and use it for the first time, you may feel like you jumped overboard, without a life preserver, from the comfortable ship on which you were cruising. This is not unusual; Microsoft has changed just about everything in the old Excel interface. This can make it very difficult to find many of the commands you previously used with nary a second thought.

One thing you might find helpful is an Excel workbook that details where to find the old Excel 2003 commands in Excel 2007. Microsoft developed this to help ease the transition to the new software. You can find the workbook at the following link:

Download the workbook to your system, and then open it. You'll find a worksheet tab for each of the Excel 2003 menus and toolbars, and each worksheet contains a list of the old commands from that menu or toolbar. To the right of these commands you'll find the way to accomplish the same task in Excel 2007.

The workbook can be opened either in Excel 2003 or Excel 2007.
